Dr. Steven James Svabek has brought has expertise to the Florida Orthopedic and Spine
Center. His primary function there will be to act as an orthopedic surgeon, focusing on
complex spine pathologies and surgical correction. Dr. Svabek is a pioneer and his many
years in orthopedics are a testament to his commitment. Patients who have sought out his
assistance have been more than satisfied with the quality of care they have received.
Dr. Svabek began his career in medicine almost 30 years ago in Kansas. It was there
that he attended St. Mary’s University and the University of Kansas in pursuit of an
undergraduate degree. Thereafter, he was accepted to Kirksville College of Osteopathic
Medicine. An institution that promotes forward thinking, Kirksville equipped Steven
for the road ahead. After a successful internship, he enlisted with Peninsula Hospital,
studying general surgery and ultimately completing his orthopedic residency.
Thus began Dr. Svabek’s professional career as a surgeon. During his first seven years
in practice, Steven worked for such esteemed institutions like St. Luke’s Orthopedic
Trauma and the American Health Network. Eventually, he decided that the time was
right to establish his own private practice. Opening its doors in 2007, Steven served the
Indianapolis, IN community for the better part of four years before establishing himself in
Coral Springs, Florida.
Steven’s commitment extends far beyond his office hours. He is an educator, having
served as an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado and a revered author,
publishing many of his insightful research papers.
Dr. Steven J. Svabek has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. He will continue to
offer quality care and advanced treatment options to his patients as well as continue his
pursuit of knowledge within the field of orthopedics.
